Mount Kilimanjaro offers seven official routes to the summit. Each path has its own character, from the popular "Whiskey" route to the remote and scenic Northern Circuit. Whether you're looking for the best acclimatization or a quiet wilderness experience, there's a route for you.
Machame Route
Known as the "Whiskey Route," Machame is our most popular choice. It offers stunning scenery and high success rates due to its excellent acclimatization layout.
Lemosho Route
The most beautiful path up Kilimanjaro. Lemosho starts on the western side, offering remote wilderness, incredible panoramas, and the best acclimatization profile.
Marangu Route
Known as the "Coca-Cola Route," Marangu is the classic trek. It is the only route that provides comfortable A-frame sleeping huts instead of tents.
Rongai Route
The only route that approaches from the north, near the Kenyan border. Drier and quieter than Southern routes, it's perfect during the wetter seasons.
Northern Circuit
The longest and newest route. It traverses the northern slopes of the mountain, offering almost 360-degree views and peerless remote wilderness.
Umbwe Route
Short, steep, and demanding. Umbwe is recommended only for experienced high-altitude climbers who can acclimatize quickly.
